Learning Agreements
General
Courses that are considered to be taken abroad must be agreed upon and acknowleged by Professor Maug in advance. Students who would like to get credit for courses abroad should arrange a Learning Agreement before their departure. See this document on how to get courses acknowledged and which information is needed.
Corporate Finance Program (SBWL)
In principle, it is possible to accredit examination from abroad. However, only one course (a maximum of 3 hours) of the Corporate Finance program of Mannheim can be substituted by foreign courses. Generally, it is not possible to complete the core part or even the whole Corporate Finance program abroad. The foreign course must be taught on an equivalent level and its content must coincide with its Mannheim equivalent. That means that a substantial part of courses abroad must consist of case studies. Simple teaching courses will not be accredited.
It is mandatory to successfully apply for Corporate Finance program in Mannheim, irrespectively of a possible stay abroad. It is impossible to obtain a participation claim by receiving a learning agreement which would not exist based on the intermediate examination (Vordiplom).
International Course (FIN550)
Our Chair is responsible for the acknowledgement of the International Course (FIN550) for all Corporate Finance courses. We require an up-to-date transcript of records to make sure that the course taken abroad does not overlap more than 50% with a course already taken in Mannheim.
Allgemeine Betriebswirtschaftslehre (ABWL)
In Spring/Summer semester 2011, our chair is responsible for the acknowledgement of courses of the Allgemeine Betriebswirtschaftslehre Finanzwirtschaft (ABWL) for all Chairs of the Finance Area (Albrecht, Maug, Ruenzi, Theissen, Weber).
In Fall/Winter semester 2011 the Chair of Prof. Albrecht will be responsible for the acknowledgment for all Chairs.
