Why is the access to Corporate Finance restricted?
Unfortunately only a limited number of students can be admitted  to the course Corporate Finance. Otherwise it won't be possible to provide a reasonable environment for case study discussions.

Is the course language English or German?
The course language is English. The interactive tutorials/case study discussions will be offered in German and English. Even if the course language is English, exams might be written in German.

Is it possible to start the Corporate Finance cycle with Corporate Finance II and continue with Corporate Finance I at a later date?
No, Corporate Finance must be heard consecutively, i.e. it is not possible to attend Corporate Finance II and then Corporate Finance I at a later date.

Writing a diploma thesis at the Chair of Corporate Finance?
Detailed information on writing a diploma thesis can be found here. Prerequisite is a seminar attendace certificate (Seminarschein). Until further notice certificates of the Chairs of the Finance Area (Prof. Albrecht, Bühler and Weber) are  also accepted.

Can I choose Corporate Finance as SBWL?
A separate SBWL Corporate Finance will not be offered. You can attend the full course cycle Corporate Finance as part of the of the SBWL Banking/Financial Markets, and the coreblock also as a part of the SBWL Insurance. More information about the new arrangements regarding the course offerings of the Finance Area can be found here.

Can I attend Corporate Finance in combination with other courses as elective course (Wahlfach)?
Generally the examination regulations provide that  a "Wahlfach" (10 SWS)should be a course  outside the Business Administration Faculty (e.g. psychology). There is, however, an opportunity (temporary and revocable) to choose a third SBWL as your "Wahlfach". In this case you should complete the whole SBWL Corporate Finance cycle (and not just 10 SWS). If you have allready attended the following courses Banking I and II, Financial Markets I and II as well as Financial Markets III or Equity Market and Stock Exchange of the Chairs of Prof. Bühler and Prof. Weber,  a combination of Corporate Finance (8 SWS) with Financial Markets III (2 SWS) and Equity Market and Stockexchange (2 SWS) is not possible. In this case you can only choose Corporate Finance (coreblock) and Insurance (full block) as an elective course.
